OUR FOCUS ON EMPLOYMENT LAW FOR employees


  • Reviewing severance packages and providing advice on whether the severance packages are sufficient, and if not, negotiation of enhancements and if required, representation at the courts to obtain enhanced terms of severance
  • Strategic advice and representation on harassment cases and constructive dismissal cases
  • Reviewing employment agreements, commission and bonus plans and independent contractor/consulting agreements
  • Providing advice with respect to employment standards issues such as termination pay, severance pay, overtime, hours of work and leaves of absence (i.e. maternity and parental leave)
  • Representation at all levels of the Ontario and Federal Courts and all administrative tribunals including the Ontario Human Rights Tribunal and the Ontario Labour Relations Board.

OUR FOCUS ON HUMAN RIGHTS LAW FOR EMPLOYEES


Heath Law is very active in the ever growing field of human rights and provides the following services to employees:

  • Determining if employer conduct is discriminatory and contrary to applicable human rights legislation
  • Preparing human rights complaints and representing individuals at mediation and hearings at both the Ontario Human Rights Tribunal and the Canadian Human Rights Tribunal
  • Advice on all human rights issues including the duty to accommodate sick and/or disabled employees and the management of disability leaves of absence
  • Advice on emerging issues such as “Age Discrimination” and accommodating “Family Status”
